I really enjoy the "It worked for me!" section of Parents Magazine, where they print tips sent in by their readers. In the January issue, one mom wrote that she created a memory game for her son by collecting 2 of each Disney paint sample colors (just Mickey's head in different colors). I thought it was a great idea, because it also helps kids learn their colors.
Another mom wrote in that she uses her label maker to label her kids' toys with how many and which type of batteries they need. That way, you don't have to unscrew the back of the toy only to realize you have the wrong batteries.
