photo source: http://www.carolynsgiftcreations.com/OK people, this journal of mine isn't all flowers and butterflies. And here's the proof: I ate like crap today! I don't eat perfect every day, but today was especially bad. But really, today was a bad day overall, and I drowned my sorrows in sugar. Warning: this may be somewhat of a pity party post.
Some days I go through the whole day with this fog over my head, and I can't fight it off. Well, today was one of those days from the beginning. I did still get in my AM workout, but it was downhill from there.
In addition to the head fog, my son had his helmet back on (he has to wear one for "flat head syndrome"). So we put it back on today, after having it off for a few days because of a sore on his head. Well, he is a totally different baby with that helmet on. In the beginning, I figured if I acted like it wasn't a big deal then he wouldn't notice. Well, he does. And he hates it. He pretty much cries all day (while I whimper), sleeps very little, and won't let me out of his sight for more than two minutes.
He is normally a pretty laid-back baby, aside from a bad day here and there. Without the helmet, I can lay him on a blanket and he'll happily play with his toys and roll around all by himself. Not only do I feel guilty that his whole demeanor changes, but it is also draining.
So I'm sure you can imagine that, with a foggy brain and a fussy baby, it would be quite difficult to use any amount of willpower I have. Not that I'm making excuses! Noooo I would never do that!! But, I bet that you didn't really read this post to find out why I broke my diet. You want to know what I ate! Maybe you don't, but I'm going to tell you, anyway.
Breakfast: 1 cup of oatmeal w/ 1 T brown sugar
Lunch: can of tuna on whole wheat
Dinner: spaghetti w/spinach and carrot salad and homemade wheat bread.
And (drum roll, please)...
"Snacks": 2 funsize Snickers, 1 funsize Reese's, 2 Weight Watchers toffee pieces (ha!), & a s'more

I just wanted to say thank you for the compliment you left on my blog. I'd love to try to keep up with yours. Right before I got pregnant with my second I was getting into fitness. I don't have much willpower for the dieting, but I do try to make healthy choices.
It's tough with a baby, and I only have one! If you are ever interested in fitness again, hopefully my blog can help!
