You probably knew that you should increase your fiber intake during pregnancy (most people do not even consume half of recommended 25-30 grams per day). But why?
According to WebMD, " [Increasing fiber intake] could make you less likely to develop gestational diabetes."
Medscape Today reports that it can also cut your risk of developing preeclampsia. It says that women with the highest intake had a 70% reduction compared with those who consumed little.
Extra fiber intake may also help with pregnancy-related symptoms such as constipation.
